BALI / INDONESIA
27th – 28th January 2016
Hell surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (The one and only baliwaves website since back in 1999, so watch out for the copycats) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok well first up sorry for the silence over the last couple of days. With the extreme (for Bali) change in weather we have had the last 4-5 days myself and probably half of Bali for that matter have been a bit crook with a touch of the hot and cold fever and head cold. Feeling much better again since yesterday and back out there on the wave hunt for you guys.
So as it shows in this current photo gallery we were back over on the East Coast of Bali yesterday. With the wind coming hard out of the WNW there is really no other choice if your looking for waves. We were also hoping to find a small pulse in wave height while we were at it. Keramas was our call, arriving to find wave height in the chest to head high class and maybe even one or two slightly bigger freak sets thrown in as a bonus. Not really your classic Keramas and not really any tube rides happening, breaking in a more peaky way than in a straight line. Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad with only around 10 surfers in the water at first but as the tide filled in picked up to maybe 25 surfers in the water. But it was fairly consistent and enough waves to be had for everyone.
Weather wise as it shows in the photos it was a mainly overcast day on the black sand beach of Keramas. Late afternoon rain here in Tuban on the West Coast.
This morning the 28th and right now at 6.45AM it’s looking a little bit grey out there again with the wind coming out of the WNW. It also looks like there is some kinda tropical depression forming up of the coast of North Western Australia. So weather wise things should be improving once that buggers off.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, –1US$=Rp13,785 — 1AU$=Rp9,585 — give or take a few Rupiah depending on where your at in Bali.
