BALI / INDONESIA
15th – 16th February 2016
Hello everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you up to date with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so just to get ya’s warmed up here’s 80+ photos that we shot at top knot beach here on Bali’s West Coast. We covered just about every angle from in close out wide and in the water, all we need to do now is for someone to give us a drone then we’ll have total coverage, bahaha. Not too mention our new live steaming video feeds right. Anyway there were waves galore on the 15th with wave height pushing 4ft or well over head on the set waves. Old Slim even managed to get a couple of glides in.
Serous dept, I know a lot of you peeps like to ride scooters and bikes to the beach and then leaving your valuable’s under the bike seat, it is locked right so it should be safe you thinks… Well as we get to cover a lot of area here in Bali we are continually seeing and hearing of surfers that have had there stuff stolen from under their bike seats. It takes a thief around 2 seconds to pop a locked seat with a mini crow bar. The other day at Canggu there were 2 seats popped and all valuable’s including one guys passport stolen. Just remember do not leave valuables in your car or under your bike seat. Do the sensible thing and leave your stuff in one of the many warungs around the beaches and then say thank you for minding your gear by buying a cold drink and something to eat. Don’t give a thief the opportunity to rip you off.
Weather wise the last couple of days it’s been just plain old hot and sunny here on Bali’s West Coast, I’m lovin it.
Yesterday the 16th and while I was at home trying to catch up on emails and and photo editing Ketut took a run down to Uluwatu and shot a few photos (more editing). I haven’t even had the chance to down load em yet but ketut reckons there 2-4 footers breaking on all 3 of the main sections of Uluwatu. Hopefully later this afternoon I’ll get some of them on line for ya’s.
Today the 17th and it’s another good looking day happening outside. Our 7.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off a touch with waist to head high waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with a light and variable wind. You will probably find a little more size over on the East side of the island today.
The next tide today will be a 1.0mtr Low around 11.00AM
