Hey folks a big welcome back to your baliwaves (the one and only baliwaves since back in 1999, so don’t be fooled by ring ins) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so just a quicky this morning as the boys are keen to get out there and get some more waves again. Here is a 50 strong photo gallery that I shot over on Bali’s East Coast at the fastest over developed area of Bali, Keramas. Wave height was in the 1-3ft class with a clean off shore wind, as it shows. The tide was just starting to push in when we arrived and only 8 surfers in the water. So we were surprised and stoked. But within the hour and little more water over the reef there were 30+ on the small take off zone of Keramas. The waves did get better as the tide filled in but with constant light drizzle it was hard to get photos without doing damage to our equipment.
Today the 14th and here in Bali it’s just another day of waves for surfers and hopefully all the lovers will be spending Valentine’s Day in bed and not at the beach bahahahahahaha. It’s been raining non stop since last night since I got back from Time Zone with the kids ( I used to be good on the games and bumper cars when I was younger by my 7yr old is making me look bad these days). But anyway we are heading off soon on the wave hunt so keep an eye on our Twitter / Instagram feeds for up dates through out the day. The next tide in Bali will be a 2.2mtr High arounf 2.00PM
Weather wise it’s overcast with light rain and perfect for surfing.
Just saying dept, This is Bali right and tourists have been coming here surfing and sight seeing for quite a long time now, there are over 600,000,000. websites on the place and I don’t know how many guide books and articles written on Bali. Bali needs tourism to keep going now, that’s what we surfers created all those years ago. So don’t go getting your balls in a knot if we mention a surfing location that is already well and truelly documented. The locals there also need our tourism dollars to survive. Try to think outside of the me me me mentality and think of the locals that might earn in a month what you earn in a few hours, just saying ok. (@mattytrain)
