BALI / INDONESIA
17th – 18th February 2016
Hello surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so as I mentioned in the last report on the 17th Ketut took a run down to Uluwatu to see if there was anything grinding through the Racetrack section on the lower end of the tide. But it wasn’t to be, the main surfing focus (and there wasn’t too many in the water focused for that matter) was more on the Main Peak. Surfing conditions were semi smooth with a light on shore Westerly wind.
Yesterday the 18th we were still here on the West Coast and up for the dawn patrol at Funggu. We were hoping to score some clean and semi un crowded waves and that’s pretty much what happened. As it shows in this 90+ mega photo gallery we have loaded up for you. Wave height was pushing the 4 ft class on the set waves and surfing conditions were clean as can be with an of shore Northerly wind, before swinging to the West and setting in around 10.30AM.
Weather wise it was damn hot on the black sand beach and there were quite a few “hot foots” given to surfers cutting across the sand in transit to the sea.
This morning the 19th and it’s just gone 4.55AM and we’ll be getting ready to roll out on the wave hunt as soon as this is on line. So stay tuned to the original Bali surf report through our Twitter, Periscope & Instagram feeds through out the day for more up dates and views.
RIP to my little digital water camera that filled up with water yesterday after a couple of solid shore breaks on the head.
