BALI / INDONESIA
8th – 9th February 2016
Hi surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (The one and only baliwaves since 1999, we don’t have any other baliwaves websites so watch out for imposters) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Alright then here’s another 40+ strong photo gallery that we shot yesterday morning here on Bali’s West Coast. We were on the scene long before the zombies had awoke and were lucky enough to find some fun little waves peeling off in the 1-2ft+ range. We were also lucky enough to find Lee Wilson out there tearing it to pieces. I’ve seen this guy using the same approach / attach on waves tripple over head. Great to see him back in Bali and back in form. So all was good through until the tide started to fill in and the numbers turn up in force, but by that time we had already had a good 3hr session anyway.
Weather wise it was a mostly overcast morning where we were with some sunny patches.
Today the 9th and we were up early and on the road up the infamous West Coast highway that eventually leads to the ferry terminal to Java. Lucky we didn’t need to go all the way stopping off at Medewi. There were only 3 surfers in the water when we arrived with a fresh off shore wind and the tide rising. Wave height was only inn the waist to chest high region but there were some fun little peelers to play with. Plus it’s always to catch up with the Medewi Board Riders.
Weather wise it was full zinc cream material with hot and sunny conditions while we were up there. I’d even say the water temperature was a balmy 24 -25 degree’s Celsius and nice and clean not choclate colored.
Ok friends of Bali it’s Tuesday here on the Island of the God’s and that means one thing, Taco Tuesday, so see you there.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, — 1US$=Rp13,350 — 1AU$=Rp9,500 —
I’ve also got loads more stuff to load up from ya’s including another good read from our resident teller of Bali / Indonesia surfing tales Mr Colin Decosta so keep an eye out for when that gets loaded up
Oh yeah dept, It also looks like the wind is going to do another switcheroo over the next couple of days and start blowing out of the SE again with a new swell mixed in with it, lets keep our fingers crossed.
