BALI / INDONESIA
12th – 13th March 2016
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves ( keeping you amped up for your next Bali / Indo surfing adventure) for the start of another surfing week and the latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok peeps just a quicky this morning as we have more waves to go and find, but to start with here are 50+ photos that we shot down at Uluwatu on the 12th and over at Serangan yesterday the 13th. Uluwatu of course holds the bulk of the photos and even though the wind was light on shore there were still some nice waves hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections.
Yesterday the 13th we rolled all the way up to Keramas to see if there was going to be anything worth a paddle. But when we pulled into Warung Cetu it was too find a pretty well flat ocean and a light on shore wind. Wave height was a lazy 1ft and lapping on the rocks. We um’d and R’d to see if it would be worth hanging around for as the tide filled back in but came to the conclusion that by that time it would be crowded out anyway. So he headed back down South to Serangan where we knew at least there would be more swell. Serangan at first had some fun little left and rights in the 1-3ft range with a light and variable wind but surfing conditions were still clean and glassy.
It was around 9.30 – 10.00AM that the surf schools started turning up in droves and flooding the line up with out of control Europeans on high volume surf boards. It was kinda like watching bumper cars crashing into each other and everyone else. How about teaching these learners some basic rules about 1 surfer per wave and to look before the leap, or in most cases before the crash, bahahaha.
Weather wise yesterday it was a very hot and sunny day over on the East Coast and I have some sun burn to back it up. But give me the tropical sun any day over cold and miserable right.
This morning the 14th and it’s another great looking day coming on for the lucky ones here in Bali. That’s me for now but stay tuned to the one and only original Bali surf report for more up dates through out the morning via Twitter and Instagram, maybe even Periscope for some live streaming video ok.
