BALI / INDONESIA
15th – 16th April 2016
Hello surfers and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (delivering the goods since back in 1999) for the latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on every sane surfers favorite tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok yesterday the 15th and our team was up early and on the road long before the sun rose, making our way back up the windy West Coast highway to Balian. Seeing as though wave height was lookin glike dropping off a touch, so we were happy to find Balian breaking in the head to almost double head high range.
At, 6.45AM surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind still light off shore and 15 surfers in the water. Fun left and rights was the order of the day and another successful surf mission.
Weather wise it was hot and sunny up the coast.
Today the 16th and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing a few waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Waist to head high with Middle Reef picking up the better waves on the falling tide.
Ketut took a spin down to Uluwatu this morning and at 8.30AM was calling 2-4ft waves with a clean off shore wind and plenty of surfers in the water. I’ll check out the photos as soon as I get this on line for ya’s, so stay tuned.
I also had a phone call from a friend at G-Land calling in perfect waves with plenty of space in the line up. So if your thinking about where to go for some waves our friends at Joyo’s G-Land resort are offering our readers a 10% discount, just contact us here at baliwaves first.
We also have more photos and up dates from up in the Mentawai Islands thanks to the crew at Kandui Surf Resort, so check em out.
Alright then, don’t go to far away (unless your on the way to Indonesia) cause there’s plenty of waves in transit to Bali as I type.
Come to Bali for a week this September 2-9. Watch Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea, Beasts etc) and Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon) perform 6 gigs in 7 days at Hidden Valley, Resort on The Bukit. Slick accom at unbelievably affordable rates.
