ASC SANCTIONED BILLABONG GROMMET ATTACK SERIES IS BACK FOR ITS 2016 INSTALLMENT
BALI, INDONESIA – The annual Billabong Grommet Attack series is back for its 2016 installment, with the first leg (pending on wave conditions) set to take place this 29 May at Seminyak Beach; and the second and last scheduled for 17 July and 28 August at Padma Beach and Kuta Beach respectively.
This three-part series will be sanctioned by the Asian Surfing Championships (ASC), and points will be awarded to participants during each leg of the event. The winner of each event will receive a Billabong product pack worth RP 2,000,000; and at the end of the series, the grommet with the highest accumulative score will be crowned the series champion, taking home the coveted event trophy, and gifts and prizes from Billabong and participating sponsors.
In addition to the excitement from the event, participants, parents and spectators are also encouraged to partake in a beach clean up that will take place at the end of each series. This activation is held in collaboration with the GUS Foundation and is aimed at educating our young ones on current and impending environmental issues.
Registration for the following division opens one month before the contests, and closes a week before each leg:
• Push-in Division (Aged 10 and under)
• Aged 14 and Under Boys
• Aged 16 and Under Boys
• Aged 16 and Under Girls
