BALI / INDONESIA
19th – 20th May 2016
Hi folks and thanks again for dropping by the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Alright my friends sit back and have a flick through another 50+ photos that we have just loaded up fresh outta Bali. Yesterday the 19th and I had a feeling the wave height and direction might be just right for a visit to some close by beach breaks up along the Legian stretch. We arrived just as the tide had peaked to find wave height in the 2-4ft range and lining up nicely. That was around 9.00AM and by that time the ESE off shore Tradey was already shifting into top gear. It was nice to hang out at Padma st and catch up with some of the friendly crew that are always there.
Weather wise it was just blue sky and sun shine here after an early morning shower that must have lasted for a whole 2 minutes.
Today the 20th and we had made a plan to check out Canggu this morning so that’s where we headed to. Arriving at 7.15AM to find wave height pretty much maxing out in the 3-5ft range and too much water moving around. The wind was still blowing off shore out of the NE but just too messy and not looking like fun. So we jumped back in the car and headed South down to the bukit for Balangan. At first the wind still had a lot of North in so it was a little lumpy but it wasn’t that much longer before the Trade wind kicked in. Wave height was coming through in the 2-4ft range and there might have even been a few sneaky double head high freak sets. As usual at Balangan as the tide started to run out and the rock bottom got shallow the waves started to line up better.
Weather wise here in Bali today we have had another real nice day with non stop blue sky and sunshine. Temperature wise right now at 4.30PM the mercury is at 34 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level is at 77%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 12knot.
Tomorrow see’s a Full Moon rising so get ready for some solid high tides and reef exposing low tide’s over the next few days.
