BALI / INDONESIA
1st – 2nd June 2016
Hello everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (delivering the goods from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the very best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so the swell has been on our reefs and beaches for a couple of days now and it has been pumping. From Kuta Reef to Airport Rights and all the locations down on the bukit lighting right up with solid waves. The East Coast has been getting plenty of action as well but with the swell direction more from the SW not as much size as our West Coast, that’s for sure.
We took some friends over to Keramas early yesterday morning, hoping to find a low crowd and some more manageable waves for the crew. Arriving at 6.30AM to find waist to head high sets with a clean off shore wind. But it wasn’t too much later that there were head to almost double head high set waves, and lining up nicely. Crowd wise there it would have peaked at around 24 surfers in the water.
But while we were over on the Eastern side of the island Ketut was down at Uluwatu and Padang Padang checking on the action for us. So as it shows in this current 121 strong photo gallery it was pumping through some solid ones. I think I’ll just let the pictures do the talking.
Weather wise yesterday there was some early cloud about with a light NW wind, The wind was a little bit shifty, variable through most of the day before eventually turning more to the East.
This morning the 3rd and it’s just gone 5.30AM and just about time to get back out there and see what the waves are doing. Stay tuned for more up dates and info via our Twitter and Instagram feeds ok.
And by no means put those guns away yet as there is still another mother of a swell in transit to Bali as I type.
