BALI / INDONESIA
9th – 10th June 2016
Hello surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report since way back in 1999) for the latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so as I mentioned yesterday the 9th me and the family (Ketut included) were up in the mountains of Karangasem for a friend and family members traditional Balinese wedding ceremony. It was a full day out with a 3 hour drive each way so I was happy to call it a day yesterday afternoon.
This morning the 10th and out 8.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing some 3-4ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still running out at the time so Middle Reef was looking the best and biggest. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind light off shore. Crowd wise we knew it was going to get busy so we put plan B into action.
Arriving over on the East Coast of Bali around 9.00AM to find wave height still a breaking in the solid 3-5ft class. Even though the wind was blowing cross on shore there were still some sweet rides rolling through for the 15 or so surfers in the water. All in all we thought it was a good plan and paid off well. Also checking out the shoreline at Keramas yesterday and it seemed to have fared the big tides and swell fairly well on the erosion department.
Weather wise today it was just another hot and sunny day as any sane person would expect for Bali this time of the year.
