BALI / INDONESIA
4th – 5th July 2016
Hi surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (The original Bali surf reports since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views from here on the only sane choice for your next tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali
Ok friends as I mentioned in yesterdays up date Ketut set out yesterday afternoon hoping to see Uluwatu’s Racetrack smoking through some deep barrels. But on arrival at 4.00PM Ketut reckoned wave height was coming through to solid for the Track and mainly breaking to wide and closing out the track.
So not wanting to come home empty handed Ketut from Uluwatu back tracked to Bingin for the sun set session. And as the photos show there were some nice tube rides going down. Not your all time classic Bingin but pretty good all the same. Yesterday afternoon the tide dropped out to a 0.1mtr Low from the New Moon rising last night. So when the tide is that low at Bingin you don’t really want to be falling off, going over the falls etc etc or you will be leaving some skin on the reef.
Today the 5th and it’s been another hot and sunny day here on the West Coast. Our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still showing wave height coming through between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right at 2-4ft+. The wind was still light and variable at the time but by 10.00AM it had swung to the SE. Now at 4.00PM it is more like SSE.
Sorry we haven’t made it out for any new photos today as I have been getting ready to head off island to Australia. As much as I don’t want to be there through the middle of a freezing cold winter I have some pretty important stuff I have to take care of and I will keep you up dated through out my time off island. Also Ketut will be heading out everyday shooting photos from all over the island so we will still be keeping you in the loop ok, so stay tuned.
