BALI / AUSTRALI
6th – 7th August 2016
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for the start of another surfing week. For our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
So check this out, Ketut has sent us through a massive barrel packed photo gallery with over 150 photos. This stuff was shot over the last 2 days at 4 different locations on both the West and East Coasts of Bali. Ketut reckons wave height has been in the 2-3ft range with some 4-5ft+ set waves depending on which part of the island your hunting. Crowd wise pretty well like wise, it really depends on where your surfing I guess. Some locations you just have to expect plenty of surfers in the water.
This morning the 8th and our lad had called through to let us know his 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing 2-4ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind a light NE.
So armed with that info and a 600mm lens Ketut has headed back up the coast a little ways to Canggu. Wave height there is in the 2-4ft range with some nice waves on all 3 of the main sections. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy through the morning session with the ESE Tradewind starting to kick in around midday. I guess we’ll just have to wait for Ketut to get those photos to us right.
Weather wise in Bali this Monday morning it’s been a mainly overcast morning with some sunny breaks. Ketut is hoping for a hot and sunny afternoon.
