BALI / INDONESIA
17th September 2016
Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (working through the weekends since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so like I said yesterday wave height on the 16th had dropped down so we treated ourselves to day off instead of photographing head high waves. But today the 17th and first off we would like to wish all out Balinese Hindu family and friends Selamat Hari Raya Kuningan today, which is the last ceremony to complete Galungan.
This morning I waited for the rain to ease and hoping the sky would clear up a bit before heading up to the Gu. But like the intro reads “50 shades of grey at the Gu” that’s about what it was color wise from a photographers view. But there were plenty of waves in the 3-4ft class and plenty going unridden. Surfing conditions were still pretty clean even though the wind was fresh outta the SE by 9.30AM.
I wish they would have widened the streets around the main hipster area at the Gu to accommodate the Europeans that like to walk halfway out on the road and are up set when given a quick toot of the horn to move out of the way.
Weather wise like I said, mainly grey and overcast with a couple of patches of blue sky. When the sun did bust out it was hot and humid with the mercury peaking at 33 degree’s Celsius.
Tomorrow fingers crossed we should be starting to see a new swell filling in through the morning. So make sure you tune in for our Sunday Session here on the baliwaves.
While your here make sure you check out all our sponsors / advertisers and help us by supporting them as well, thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves
