BALI / INDONESIA
22nd – 23rd September 2016
Hello surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (delivering the good to you since back in 1999) for today’s news and our best views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the safest bet for perfect waves and perfect weather on your next hard earned vacation, Bali.
Ok so after scoring the Pt to ourselves the day before my crew and I thought we had better get back up again for another dose of long left handers. We arrived at 7.00AM after the 2 hr drive from home to find wave height had increased nicely over night to 3-4ft+. Once again there were no surfers in the water. We were happy to brave the sea urchin infested walk out through the rocks if it mean’t all the waves to ourselves (there were urchin causualties by the end of our session) But I think every surfer at some point in time that has ever surfed over a rocky bottom has had an urchin tickle their feet. It was a great day out and fun had by all, well worth the drive.
Today the 23rd and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height in the 2-4ft class, between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was almost on the bottom of the low at the time and the wind light out of the North.
So after doing so many hours on the road and in the surf the last couple of days I got Ketut to take a run down to Uluwatu for the Low tide on the Racetrack section. He has phoned through calling clean and tidy 2-4ft+ waves with a few barrels peeling off down the Track. So keep an eye out later on for a fresh photo gallery when Ketut gets back home.
Weather wise outside this morning it’s been a mainly hot and sunny morning with a few clouds drifting through. Currently right now at 10.45AM the temperature is a warm 28 Celsius, Humidity is on 82%. Wind direction is now coming out of the ESE at 6-9knot.
