BALI / INDONESIA
6th – 7th September 2016
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you ready for Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the best value for hard earned tropical surf holiday dollar destination, Bali
First of all we would like to wish all our Balinese Hindu friends and their families Selamat Hari Raya Galungan and Kuningan. Today through till and including the 8th of September is a special holiday period for the Balinese, so for the lucky ones here in Bali expect to see plenty of color and prayers happening at Temples all over Bali.
So hears our 50 strong photo gallery that we shot back over on the East side of Bali yesterday. It was so good the day before that we would have been crazy not to have. As it shows wave height was in the 3-5ft range with clean and glassy surfing conditions as the tide was still running in.
This morning the 7th and I did get a look at the Outer Reefs while I was on the beach taking care of our double outrigger (small ceremony). Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was breaking in the chest to over head high range. The tide was still a bit low on Kuta Reef and Airports but Middle was breaking ok. Surfing conditions were clean enough with a light NW wind at the time. It was around 8.30AM that the ESE – SE Trade wind started to kick in.
I’ve also had a phone through report from friends at Canggu earlier this morning calling nice waves on all 3 of the main sections in the 2-4ft+ class. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time.
Weather wise this morning we did get a few drops of rain here in Tuban but since then it’s just another hot and sunny day here on the holiday island of Bali.
Ok crew that’s us for today but we will surely be back out there on the road again tomorrow hunting down some waves. So stay tuned to the one and only baliwaves surf report website.
I also want to apologize for the last photo in today’s photo gallery, this guy was taking a leak right right on the beach almost in front the waves. There are toilets on both sides of him around 45mtrs in both directions and bushes even closer. Please show some respect on Bali’s beaches ! While I’m at it, I think some dog owners could also start bagging their doggy’s crap as well.
I’ve also been getting some email from concerned holiday makers over the news paper selling crap about banning cold Bintangs in Bali. For all our friends, this debate happens every year for years gone by. It does sell some news papers but that’s about it, cheers !
