BALI / INDONESIA
13th October 2016
Hi folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you linked in to Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the latest views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the everybodies favorite tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
I was a little bit short handed this morning so I didn’t get a chance for an early morning surf check on the Outer Reefs. But with the wind coming out of the North, tide rising, I though I’d take a run over to the East Coast for a look. I didn’t pull into the dirt road car park until 8.30AM and was surprised to only see 8 – 10 surfers in the water with perfect head to almost double head high waves peeling off. As it shows in today’s photos there was so many waves going through un ridden. But by 9.30AM the wind was already starting to come up hard out of the E-ESE and soon turned it to mush.
Weather wise today here on the holiday isle it’s been a very hot one with a midday temperature of 33 degree’s Celsius. I think we are not far off the end of the dry season and pretty normal for this time of the year.
Ok crew stay tuned cause we will be out there chasing the waves again for ya’s tomorrow so keep an eye out for more up dates and info right here on the original Bali surf report.
I’ve been saying this for a long time now on the baliwaves. About how dangerous it is riding motorbikes / scooters in Bali. Well the other morning within 10 mins of each other I saw 2 different motor bike accidents with westerners down on the ground. Maybe 15 – 20yrs ago it was safe and cool to cruise around on motor bikes but back then there wasn’t a fraction of the traffic there is these days. Hire a car or a driver if you want to go the distance and be safe.
I’ve also loaded a new short story from our resident writer Colin Decosta onto the baliwaves so scroll down and check it out.
