BALIINDONESIA
7th – 8th October 2016
Hi folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (working through the weekends since back in 1999) for the latest news and the best possible views from locations from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Alright then here’s a quick photo gallery that we put together up the coast yesterday. As it shows wave height was only in the waist to slightly over head high class but all the same still peeling off for 100mtrs+. We pretty well surfed it by ourselves for the first couple of hours. But as the tide started to fill in there were a lot of learners turning up and a lot of cut and bruised feet from the rocky bottom that is littered with sea urchins as well. I also have to truth up and admit the water quality was a little bit expired. But still everyone looked like they were having fun to me, I sure did.
Today the 8th and we were expecting a little bump in wave height and that’s what we got. Our 7.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing some bigger set waves in the 2-4ft range, with Middle Reef picking up the bigger surfing conditions were clean with the wind light out of the NE at the time.
I had Ketut take a run up to the Gu where I though it should be cranking and our man has brought home the bacon in the way of some sick photos that he nailed while on the scene. Ketut said there was drop in mayhem going down on the right hander. I’ll get those photos organized and on line for ya’s first thing in the morning ok.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly overcast day with a few drops of rain thrown in for good measure. Temperature wise the mercury peaked at 31 Celsius. The SE Trade wind kicked in around 10.00AM.
