BALI / INDONESIA
21st October 2016
Hello everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the All ways “in season” first choice tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so this morning’s surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height still breaking in the waist to head high plus class. The tide was pretty dry at the time and only Middle Reef was breaking properly with a light off shore Easterly wind. There was already a handfull of surfers in the water on Middle Reef and more waiting for the tide to start running in.
But as it shows I took the camera equipment for a run down to the Southern end of the island to Bali’s premier surfing location, Uluwatu. I never arrived until just before 9.00AM (bukit traffic) and was happy to see only a dozen surfers riding the top end of the Racetrack section. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy and the tide just starting to roll back in. It was nice down in my favorite warung by myself until Team Euro started arriving at 10.00AM. But by 10.30AM it looked like wave height was backing off and no more of the bigger set waves were coming through so I packed up.
Weather wise down on the bukit there was a lot of on and off again showers with some patches of blue sky in between. Now at 3.00PM the sky is starting to fill up with cloud again and we might see some more rain tonight.
