BALI / INDONESIA

Hello friends and thanks for tuning again into the baliwaves. Hey and how about showing some love and take a look at the flashing banner over to the right of this. We are hoping to raise some cash so we can get some new camera equipment and helping you save some money at the same time. We’ve been doing our part here at baliwaves since ’99 bringing you a little bit of Bali each day, so show some love if you can.
Well with just 5 days to go of this 8 week campaign left to run we have managed to scrape up just over AU$1,350.00 from our target of AU$6,000.00 I’d like to give the 24 people out of our average 100,000 viewers per month who did show some love a huge thank you.
Here we go again with another solid photo gallery that I blasted off for you guys this morning here on Bali’s West Coast. We arrived at Canggu around 6.45Am to find clean and glassy waves breaking on all 3 of the main sections in the 2-4ft class. The tide was just hitting the top and the wind was light out of the NE. Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad either with 6 surfers on Echo beach lefts, 1 surfer on the Sandbar and around 18 surfers down on Pereranan rights in front of the river mouth. We only hang out for a couple of hours and when we left just before 9.00AM the wind was just starting to swing to the S-SW. And that’s pretty much where it has stayed through out today.
Weather wise she started off overcast this morning with more rain falling around 10.00AM and right now at 5.30PM it’s still overcast with a chance of more rain tonight to help cool things down.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, — 1US$=Rp13,500 — 1AU$=Rp9,920 — NB, something good must have happened in the US as this rate is the highest I’ve ever seen in the last 21+yrs of living here. Except for the Stock market crash in ’97 when the US$ hit Rp20,000 for just 1 day and millions were made and lost.
Ok folks with Ketut having to head home to our village for a ceremony I’ve been stuck behind the lens and am hanging out for a surf, so maybe if there are a few waves close to home tomorrow morning that’s where I’m going to be ok.
