BALI / INDONESIA
15th – 16th November 2016
Hello friends and thanks for tuning again into the baliwaves. Hey and how about showing some love and take a look at the flashing banner over to the right of this. We are hoping to raise some cash so we can get some new camera equipment and helping you save some money at the same time. We’ve been doing our part here at baliwaves since ’99 bringing you a little bit of Bali each day, so show some love if you can.
Well with just around 2 weeks of this 8 week campaign left to run we have managed to scrape up just over AU$950.00 from our target of AU$6,000.00 I’d like to give the 16 people out of our average 100,000 viewers per month who did show some love a huge thank you.
Alright friends of Bali here’s the photo gallery that we shot on the 15th up the coast at Medewi. After being run off the road two times by rogue bus and truck drivers we made it alive to find wave height a very fun sized chest to slightly over head with a clean and light off shore wind. I don’t drink coffee anymore but after that drive I had 4 cups before hitting the waves bahahaha. Crowd wise it was great with only a handful of surfers that were riding from the inside main take off point. We surfed fo over 4 hours and even when we left (with the tide draining out) there were still some nice 4 footers peeling off the rock loaded point.
Yesterday the 16th we took an early run over to Serangan on Bali’s East coast. arriving just after 7.00Am to find wave height in the 2-3ft+ class but with the wind light on shore out of the ESE. Crowd wise there was still around 10 – 15 surfers in the water and there was a few nice ones between the close outs. But seeing as though my crew were a bit seedy from Bintang fever we threw off and went home and back to bed. How ever there were some nice waves breaking on the Outer reefs just down the street from home and that was the better option with a light off shore wind and 2-4 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
This morning the 17th and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing some clean fun sized waves in the 2-4ft range breaking between Kuta reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with a light off shore wind. That’s where I’m going to be surfing after lunch for sure.
Ketut has also called in from where he has dragged the camera gear this morning saying Uluwatu has head to well over head high waves breaking on the Peak and Temple sections. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with a light off shore wind and 30 surfers in the water spread through the different sections. Stay tuned for Ketut’s photos later this evening ok.
Weather wise outside it’s been a funny old morning here in Bali, I just made it home dry around 6.30AM after taking Kelly for a walk, it later pissed down for a an hour or two. Then the sun busted out and made it very hot and humid. Now at 11.20AM the cloud looks like it’s gunna start moving back in, but who knows right.
The next tide today is going to be a 2.3mtr High around 11.45AM.
If you are looking for a quiet place to stay near some of Bali’s best waves, with a resident surf guide and yoga instructor at the resort, S Resorts Hidden Valley is a great choice.
