BALI / INDONESIA
29th – 30th May 2017
Hi folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping surf reports real since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 29th I didn’t get a chance to get out and shoot any photos. It was another grey and dull day outside so I just hung out and did some jobs around the house. I was pretty good actually, fixed my water pump, taught myself how to splice rope, learned a new song on the guitar and stripped and cleaned a couple of my spinning reels. Not too mention all the Dad stuff, played 3 games of trouble with the kids, home cooked Balinese lunch etc etc, a top day at home.
Today the 30th and seeing as we had a nice sunny morning here in Bali I grabbed the camera gear and headed down to Bali’s wave magnet surfing location of Uluwatu. As it shows in today’s photo gallery wave height was really only in the 2-4ft range. But there were nice clean peaks breaking from Temples down to the Main Peak and even a couple of little peelers running down the Racetrack section while the tide was still lowish. Crowd wise it was pretty normal for these kind of waves and beautiful conditions. But as I was leaving around 10.00AM to come back home it looked like the place was just starting to come alive. I imagine it would have been crazy by midday but that would be self imposed punishment wouldn’t it.
Weather wise it was a cracker with blue sky pretty much all day and a top temperature of 31 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Outlook, well batten down the hatches it’s going to be on this week here in Bali. Tomorrow the 31st we should start to see a medium sized swell hit the islands that will produce waves all over the place through until the 2nd of June. Then shortly there after we will see another medium sized swell commence on the 4th with a peak on the 5th that is going to produce some big waves holding into the 6th. Even further out there’s a couple more solid systems in transit to Indonesia so get ready or stay tuned to the original Bali surf report website.
Up dates dept, This morning I’ve loaded a new Body board photo gallery, for those that care. I’ve also dropped a new G-Land surf report from our friends at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Resort. Plus a fresh and wave jammed report from Mark Flint from KabuNohi Surf Resort up in Lagundry Bay / Nias, Hit this high lighted link to check out an escape surf trip to Nias right now.
