BALI / INDONESIA
1st – 2nd May 2017
Hi people and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (bringing you a little bit of Bali since back in 1999) for today’s news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so yesterday morning we were up early and on location waiting the tide to do it’s thing and bring us some new swell. When we first pulled up there was already 3 surfers in the water but wave height was only just 1-2ft. That was at 6.45AM with a nice light off shore wind. We sweated it out waiting and watching for another 60 minutes that felt like half a day. But as we had hoped for, like whammmy all of a sudden we had head to almost double head high sets pouring through. I think there would have been plenty of waves happening all over the island at that time yesterday. As it shows in our current photo gallery my crew was pretty happy with things.
Weather wise it was pretty much just hot and sunny where we were yesterday.
Today the 2nd and our 6.45AM surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban was showing a big old drop in size over night. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left was only showing in the 1-3ft range with the bigger waves on Middle with the low tide. Ketut has taken a run up the coast this morning to see if he can find anything happening at the Gu. So maybe tune in later and see what we have been up to.
Weather wise outside it’s looking pretty average today. Over night rain that has lingered into today. right now at 11.40AM there’s still a few drops of rain about with the temperature currently at 27C.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 2.0 at 2.00PM
I’ve also thrown a quick promo up for our friends at the Dewi Sri “live seafood” restaurant located on jalan kartika Plaza south of Lippo Mall. Pak Nyoman is offering a surfer special with a whole grilled or steam fish with steamed rice for Rp40,000. That’s around US$3.30.
