BALI / INDONESIA
19TH – 20TH May 2017
Hello surfers and thanks for calling by the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Alright so yesterday the 19th we knew it was going to be small everywhere and even flat at most locations so we used our surfer instincts and headed South towards the source, well Uluwatu is as far as we can go here on Bali. As it shows wave height down at Indonesia’s premier surfing location was only in the 2-3ft range with a once in awhile slightly over head freak set. Even so there was some good surfing going down from some of the local stand out surfers. No shortage of surfers when it’s small at Ulu and I guess that just gives all the learners an opportunity to get a wave at Uluwatu. We also stopped in for a cliff side surf check at Balangan beach on the way as well. But she was only just breaking in the 1-2ft class.
Today the 20th and for a no brainer we headed down to Legian beach, knowing there wasn’t going to be much happening. But the good thing about Legian beach is that it don’t really matter how small the waves are there’s usually always a good shaped sand bank in the area.
Weather wise it’s been mostly hot and sunny but there were a few drops of rain and the wind did swing on shore for a short while through mid morning. Temperature wise the mercury would have easily peaked around the 31 degree’s Celsius mark.
Hopefully tomorrow we are going to see a little more swell creep in so stay tuned to the original and only baliwaves for more news and up dates ok.
I’ve also down a quick promo for Indonesian Explorer’s Mike and Bill Boyum who opened up Bali and G-Land for us later day surfers so make sure you check that out down in our news feed.
