BALI / INDONESIA
2nd – 3rd June 2017
Hello everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with the best waves in Indonesia since 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on today’s surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so here’s another fresh photo gallery that we grabbed from down at Indo’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. The last few days we have been getting blow away with a very strong off shore SE wind. When it gets this windy it limits the amount of surfing locations where you can escape it. With the best protection down under the cliffs of Balangan, Bingin, Impossible’s and best of all Uluwatu. There has been waves at all these spots but our pick of the bunch has been Uluwatu where wave height is usually a good 2-3 foot bigger.
Yesterday down at Uluwatu wave height as it shows was still hitting the double head high mark and there were some nice tube rides going down. There’s also been lots of waves breaking on the Outer Reefs of Tuban, namely Kuta Reef, Middle Reef and Airport Left / Right. The only problem with the Outers has been the strong off shore wind with nothing to buffer it. This makes for super choppy / bumpy take offs where you are blinded by the spray through the take off and then fighting been blown off the back of the wave every time to turn. Can’t tell ya’s how many times I’ve done it though. This wind we have at the moment has been kicking in early and not leaving any window for any sneaky waves over on the East Coast either, unless you like strong on shore wind.
Weather wise as I mentioned it’s been great kite weather, mostly over cast morning with midday temperature of around 31 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Outlook is still looking good for wave height to start getting bigger through out Sunday before a solid peak Sunday night and Monday morning. Hopefully we’ll get a little Padang Padang action early afternoon around the low tide.
Ok that’s us for this morning but I do have another new surf report and photos from our friends at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp to load up for ya’s shortly.
