BALI / INDONESIA
30th – 31st July 2017
Hello everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (bringing you a little bit of Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so to get the ball rolling here’s a solid assortment of photos from down at the Quicksilver Uluuwatu Challenge (Bali’s Big Eco Weekend) that went off with a huge bang yesterday the 30th. As it shows wave height was coming through perfectly for the Racetrack section in the 3-5ft class while we were on the scene. We weren’t able to stick it out through until the end but judging by the surfing going down in these photos it would have been on for young and old. Thanks again to all the sponsors for always making this a great event here in Bali.
Today the 31st and we covered a few miles from Legian to the bukit with stops in between. Wave height was hammering the beach breaks this morning with solid over head close outs on the dropping tide. Balangan was showing some solid sets by the time we got down there around 8.30AM. There was only 4 surfers in the water and they did seem to be doing a lot of paddling in between waves. Back here at home and even though it’s a bit windy there are a few waves on the Outer Reefs in the 3-4ft+ range.
Weather wise today I guess you could say it’s been another mostly sunny day where we have spent it. Right now at 2.00PM the mercury is on 28C and the Humidity is at 72%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 17-19knot.
Alright then that’s me for now but we’ll be back again tomorrow with more news and views so stick around the baliwaves.
