BALI / INDONESIA
22nd – 23rd July 2017
Hi folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (bringing you just a little bit of Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions here on every bodies favorite tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so on the 22nd we took an early morning run down to the Southern end of the island, locally know as the bukit. We did have plans for elsewhere but due to the ESE Trade Wind already kicking in we had to stay on the West side. As it shows in the photos wave height was in the 3-5ft range with some 6ft set waves now and again. I think the longest wave that I saw someone ride peeled off for maybe 300yrds.
Yesterday the 23rd and wave height was still holding nicely with a few options on offer here along the West Coast. Our early morning surf check on the Outer Refs of Tuban was only showing 2-3ft+ waves on our first check but by 9.45Am it was morning like 3-5ft+ Ketut had taken a run down to Uluwatu and pretty much the same with a bump in wave height on the top of the tide. I’m still sorting out some photos from yesterday to load up so stay tuned, it was solid and pumping.
Today the 24th and wave height has backed off some with our 7.45AM surf check on the Outer Reefs showing 2-4ft waves between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. There was maybe a slightly bigger set wave hitting Middle’s. But with a big high tide it think it will get pretty fat. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with a light off shore East wind. I’d imaging there’s still plenty of perfect waves peeling through down on the bukit at all locations today on that perfect part of the tide.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly sunny day so far today with a few clouds passing through. Temperature wise right now at 10.40AM the mercury is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity at 74%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 9-13knot.
The next tide today will be a dry reef exposing 0.0mtr Low at 4.51PM
