BALI / INDONESIA
16th – 17th July 2017
Hi peeps and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you amped up for your next Bali / Indo surf trip since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok so we hope your week has got off to a bang and here’s a few photos from when we were up the coast yesterday. Some fun waves were had with a pretty reasonable crew in the water. Not quite your 300yrd rides but well over the 100 mark for sure. The biggest set waves would have been in the double head high class. It was around 9.45AM when the SE Trade Wind started to kick in hard, blowing cross / on shore at Medewi when it does.
Today the 17th and my 6.45AM surf check onnthe Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing a big drop in wave height with chest to over head high set waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The SE’r was already up and starting to wind up some strong off shore wind.
We thought we’d be sneaky though so we snuck down to the South end of the island and try and get under the cliff at Balangan. The tide was still running out when we got down there and not looking too bad with only 4 surfers in the water. The wind was already strong off shore here as well but the cliff was giving us a little bit of shelter. Wave height was mainly in the head high some well over head high set waves.
Weather wise it was a top morning here in Bali with the midday temperature up around 30 degree’s Celsius, no sign of any rain today.
Ok tomorrow we are going to head somewhere different for a change of scenery so make sure ya stay tuned to the original Bali surf report ok)
