BALI / INDONESIA
28th – 29th August 2017
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from the World’s No.1 wave saturated tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok, yesterday the 28th and we were up early and on the road heading North West on Bali’s super highway. Well it’s not really a super highway but it is the main link to Java so it has a super amount of maniac bus and truck drivers using it 24/7. Arriving as Balian at 7.00AM to find to the A frame peak splitting nicely with only 10 – 15 surfers in the water, and clean as can be surfing conditions. Lots of waves were had by all our crew and when we left at 12.00PM there was still plenty of clean ones going through.
I haven’t surfed up at Balian since the last shark attack at this place over a year ago, and probably won’t when ever the water is that chocolate brown color during the wet / rainy season. But yesterday the water was crystal clear and absolute pleasure to be out surfing. And you know that if Balian has 2-4ft waves everywhere else in Indonesia is going to be almost flat.
Today the 29th and again we were up fairly early and on our way to another location here on Bali’s West Coast. Arriving to find fun sized clean as can be 1-3 foot left and rights. The wind did swing to the SE and cross shore around 9.30AM but there was still plenty of fun to be had all the same.
Weather wise it’s been hot and sunny and good sun screen or zinc is a definite must here in Bali if your out in the water.

Another important issue for the locals here in Bali especially with winter going down in the Southern Hemisphere and the season for super flu in Australia. Please don’t bring flu’s and virus strains with you on holidays. Make sure you get to the Doctor first before getting on the plane and infecting all the passengers and then maybe infecting everyone you come in contact with here in Bali. You wouldn’t go to work with the Flu so don’t bring it to Bali please.
