BALI / INDONESIA
25th August 2017
Hello everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves (keeping you in touch with the happy little wave drenched tropical island of Bali since back in 1999) fort our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from World’s No.1 holiday destination of Bali.
Ok ok as you may have picked up by now I’ve been off island, doing it tough over in Singapore for the last couple of days. The only reason for the last minute trip was due to the fact that our last camera body up and died on us on the 21st so it had to be done. Don’t get me wrong, Singapore is beautiful island that is full on with a beautiful city and lots to do if you have the time and the dollars. Yep, nice place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there, no waves. Anyway I got the job done and brought home a bag chock full of new cameras and camera gear, to have baliwaves back in action once more.
As it shows in today’s photo gallery I had Ketut take a run doown to the Southern end of the island to Indonesia’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. Beautifully clean and tidy surfing conditions with a light off shore wind out of the ESE and wave height in the 3-5ft class with maybe even 1 or 2 slightly bigger again freak sets. There was only maybe 25 surfers in the water when Ketut arrived. No Ulu locals in the water but there was Made Aru and Usman Trioko in the water putting on a good show for Indonesia.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly hot and sunny day here on the holiday island with just the odd cloud or two drifting through. Temperature wise the midday temperature peaked at 29 degree’s Celsius.
We also had a quick look on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban early this morning. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was in the 2-3ft with some slightly bigger set waves hitting Middle Reref while the tide was still nice and low.
Today I’ve also loaded up new BINGIN, G-LAND & NIAS surf reports so make sure you check those out as well while your here. I’ve also got a new MENTAWAI ISLANDS surf report to throw at ya’s asap.
I’d also like to give a big Thank You to Joseph and Seagate for the new 1TB hard disk. Ordinary folk also need to back up their PC’s and Lappy’s and the most reliable external drives are from Seagate so don’t risk your valuable photo’s, video, data etc etc with anything less.
Another important issue for the locals here in Bali especially with winter going down in the Southern Hemisphere and the season for super flu in Australia. Please don’t bring flu’s and virus strains with you on holidays. Make sure you get to the Doctor first before getting on the plane and infecting all the passengers and then maybe infecting everyone you come in contact with here in Bali. You wouldn’t go to work with the Flu so don’t bring it to Bali please.
