Hi peeps and welcome back to your baliwaves (bringing you the daily news from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest views on surfing and weather conditions from here on our favorite little wave saturated tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
We were up early yesterday the 9th and on route to the very well known surfing location of Canggu. Arriving around 6.30AM to find wave height in the 2-3ft+ range with the wind nice and light off shore. As it shows in our 70 strong photo gallery there were some perfect cruncy little waves coming through on both the sand bar and the river mouth and I can tell you there wasn’t any waves going through un ridden if you get my drift. I also notice that the work has begun on the new Seminyak style Hotel and Disco behind the sandbar so it looks like the end is near. They have even built a new life guard tower way down near the river mouth (where no one swims) and abandoned the old one they built (where everyone swims). Telling me I think all the new warungs that have been built are only temporary as well. Hopefully not but only time will tell.
We shot over 700 photos yesterday at the Gu but with only so many hours in the day I couldn’t edit the whole lot, hope you like what we have posted.
Weather wise it wasd mostly over cast through the morning as it shows in the photos but there was some patches of sun shine around 10.00AM. Light ENE wind to start off with the SE Tradewind late to wake up. This would have opened up a lot of other locations over on the East Coast of Bali as well.
This morning the 10th and right now it’s just gone 5.30AM and we will be back out there on the wave hunt again shortly. So stay tuned for more news and info through our Twitter and Instagram feeds on baliwaves through out the morning.
Hey and what ever you do if your looking for a new surfboard here in Bali make sure you get up to the Channel Island mega board shop as they are having a super sale today only. You know where, on Sunset road just opposite the Burger King. You can also join in the free BBQ and drinks while your there.
Alright then I would like to give warning to all the parents that are bringing their toddlers to Bali and want to stay in the perfect villa set up. Just a few days back there was a tragic drowning of an Australian 3yr old here in Bali in a villa pool. Please take care as there are no such things as safety fences or gates for kids here in Bali in villa’s. And any parent knows how hard it is to keep track of their little ones every second of the day. So please take this into consideration.
Another important issue for the locals here in Bali especially with winter going down in the Southern Hemisphere and the season for super flu in Australia. Please don’t bring flu’s and virus strains with you on holidays. Make sure you get to the Doctor first before getting on the plane and infecting all the passengers and then maybe infecting everyone you come in contact with here in Bali. You wouldn’t go to work with the Flu so don’t bring it to Bali please.
