BALI / INDONESIA
26th August 2017
Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) and welcome to the weeked with our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Yesterday, Saturday the 26th and Eddy and I took a run up to Canggu to check out the action at the Pererenan Surfing Club contest that as we arrived was going down on the Sandbar section of the Gu. The tide was still low and at 8.30AM the wind was already coming lightly out of the SE for cross shore condition. Wave height unfortunately was only hitting the 2-3ft range but that wasn’t stopping the competitors from putting on a blazing hot show for the judges and spectators.
As the tide started to fill in the contest was moved to the high performance River mouth section at Pererenan only a stones throw from the Sandbar. The River mouth handles the cross shore wind better and giving some longer rides. We could only hand out to see the running of the first round of surfing, and if the intensity of the Round 1 was any indication of what the final rounds were going to be like I’m sure the boy’s were pushing the boundries or proffesional surfing here in Bali.
Thanks again to the boys at Pererenan Surfing Club (PSC) for putting on another first rate surfing event for all boys in Bali.
Weather wise it was a mostly hot and sunny day at Pererenan but as Murphy has it just about everytime a good set wave would come through there would just happen to be cloud cover.
This morning the 27th and it’s just gone 6.00AM and we are waiting for the sun to pop up so we can do a quick surf check before heading out on a wave hunt. This is Bali right so you know there is going to be surf out there somewhere. So stay tuned for more up dates and info through our Twitter and Instagram feed through out the morning.
I’d also like to give a big Thank You to Joseph and Seagate for the new 1TB hard disk. Ordinary folk also need to back up their PC’s and Lappy’s and the most reliable are from Seagate so don’t risk your valuable photo’s, video, data etc etc with anything less.
Another important issue for the locals here in Bali especially with winter going down in the Southern Hemisphere and the season for super flu in Australia. Please don’t bring flu’s and virus strains with you on holidays. Make sure you get to the Doctor first before getting on the plane and infecting all the passengers and then maybe infecting everyone you come in contact with here in Bali. You wouldn’t go to work with the Flu so don’t bring it to Bali please.
