BALI / INDONESIA
4th – 5th August 2017
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for another weekend of waves and our latest news and best possible views from our favorite little wave saturated tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Ok first of all just a quick heads up on our camera equipment, yesterday we were using our 1000mm lens and I truely love this lens. But our last camera body has some permanent dust spots on the sensor that we can’t get rid of. And using the 1000mm really high lights the dust. I’ve checked out air tickets for Singapore for next week so we will have a new camera and lens (600mm) with auto focus real soon (something I’ve never had before). So expect to see a lot more of our bad ass 1000mm lens in the very near future with a new 25mp camera attached.
Right then this current photo gallery was taken down on the South end of the island and most of you already no where right. I love this place, although the waves do tend to break hard and fast there are always some perfect ones that just peel off forever, if you know what to look for. Not to mention all the stunning ladies on the beach ever since they bulldozed the Euro’s outta Dreamland. Yesterday as it shows there were some real nice waves and average Joe surfers were getting some nice waves as it shows.
Weather wise it was mainly overcast with some patches of sun shine mixed in, as it shows in the photos.
Today the 5th of August and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs (re Twitter) was looking like wave height had backed off a touch from yesterday instead of building. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was showing in the chest to well over head range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Middle Reef as usual was getting the lions share of the swell. Surfing conditions at the time were pretty good with the wind still only light off shore out of the SE. At the time there was around 25 out on Kuta Reef, 5 at Middles and another hand full out on Airports.
Weather wise outside right now at 11.50AM there is a lot more blue showing than earlier and the temperature is on 27 degree’s Celsius. Humidity level is around 77% and the wind is now coming hard out of the SE at 20knot.
Ok crew that’s me for this Saturday here in Bali, thanks for supporting the baliwaves and make sure you stay tuned cause we will be back out there again tomorrow for another Sunday Session.
