BALI / INDONESIA
12th – 13th September 2017
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves (bringing you a little bit of Bali since back in 1999) for the latest news and our best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on every sane surfers first choice tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so we have been getting around the last few days covering both sides of the island. This current photo gallery was shot here on the West Coast with some nice fun sized waves and clean conditions before the SE Trade wind kicked in and took the shine off the waves.
Yesterday the 12th and we were up early and over on the East Coast seeing what we could find at one of my favorite locations. Arriving around 7.15AM to find some fun chest to over head high waves with clean and glassy conditions with only 3 other surfers in the water. I was hoping that there wouldn’t be anyone out, but hey 3’s not too bad. The tide was pretty dry so that would have thrown a few people off but this place is surfable on the bottom of the tide. More surfers did start to turn up after around an hour and the first two that did paddled straight to the inside and then proceeded to paddle and flap around for any waves that came close to them.
Today the 13th and we headed back up the coast (West) again this morning hoping to find some sand bar action. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with a light off shore wind. No shortage of surfers as per usual at this place and a pretty knarly beach break was claiming some good wipe outs. There was also a few tube rides going down. The tide was way too low for the 3-4ft+ right handers but there still a few takers playing chicken with the rocksn that were only just submerged.
There’s also been some nice waves breaking out on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban through the afternoon and our team has been out there getting among them every day. Looking very good out there this afternoon again at KR.
Weather wise it was a little bit cool and overcast this morning but the sun was powering up and out by late morning. Right now at 3.40PM the temp is on 30 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 66%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE at 12-15knot.
Looks like more waves again tomorrow and another big low tide even though we are in the middle of the moon phase. Stay tuned and I’ll be keeping you up to date via our Twitter and Instagram feeds through out the morning.
Another important issue for the locals here in Bali especially with winter going down in the Southern Hemisphere and the season for super flu in Australia. Please don’t bring flu’s and virus strains with you on holidays. Make sure you get to the Doctor first before getting on the plane and infecting all the passengers and then maybe infecting everyone you come in contact with here in Bali. You wouldn’t go to work with the Flu so don’t bring it to Bali please.
The latest news fronm Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp is saying that there’s plenty of empty beds over there at the moment and a perfect time to get some long perfect lefts. Contact us here at baliwaves and we’ll get you over there with a solid discount.
