Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping you up to date
with Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on
surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropcail
surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Mt Agung, last night we had our in laws, nieces and nephews come down from
their evacuated village on the foot hills of Mt Agung to stay with us. Their
news was of small rumblings or as the media calls them “tremors”. There has
been small wisps of smoke but nothing of the billowing type. Most of the
village men have stayed behind to tend their live stock. Bali’s international
and Domestic terminals are operating as normal with Lombok International also
operating as normal. With the wind patterns we have at this time of the year
the Kuta area will be very un lucky to see any ash or smoke from Mt Agung if
it does erupt anytime soon. Some people (that have lived through the 1963
eruption) are saying if at all the eruption could still be months away. But
really who knows when or if the Mountain will blow right. Even the experts
can not predict when a volcanic mountain will erupt. It’s always the news
after the eruption and never in history as we know it, before.
Wave wise here’s some photos from where we were surfing yesterday down on
Bali’s West Coast. The tide was on the bottom when we arrived and as she
pushed in so did the swell. By mid morning wave height was pushing the head
to double head high plus range with maybe 25 surfers in the water. Surfing
conditions were clean and tidy with the wind clean out off shore out of the
SE.
As per usual Bali continues to pump out perfect waves everyday, no reports in
from other area’s tells me they are getting skunked, can’t go wrong with a
Bali surfing holiday.
Today the 26th and so far this morning at 8.00AM we have a 50/50 type of over
cast / sunny type of day. I’m sure we will be seeing more blue sky as the day
wears on. Wave height is supposed to settle down a notch today and the wind
is already fresh out of the SE and off shore from Kuta Reef to Uluwatu. We
will be heading off on a surf mission shortly so stay tuned for more news and
up dates through our baliwaves Twitter and Instagram feeds on site.
