Hello everyone and welcome back to the baliwaves (your eye’s on Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the very best possible news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination that has waves for everyone, Bali.
Mt Agung up date, well our man Ketut has returned back from helping out in our family village, located in the foot hills of Mt Agung and which was evacuated but since then has returned to 99.9% normality once again. Ketut says there is still some thin smoke or steam venting out of Mt Agung and is visible from the village when the sky is clear of cloud. He also reckons that the tremor activity has settled down and didn’t feel any movement while he was up there the last week. But like the media and experts say… volcano’s are un predictable. Here in Kuta life and the waves are just as they have always been. There doesn’t seem to be any travel warnings going out in China or Europe judging by the numbers of them here in Bali that’s for sure. Anyway lets just hope for the best for Bali and it’s people.
Ok this morning we were surfing here on Bali’s West Coast again not too far from home. Wave height has seemed to have bumped a little over night with wave height in the 3-4ft and a few double head high set waves through in. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy through until maybe 9.00AM when the SE Trade Wind kicked in blowing cross / on shore where we were. Crowd wise the numbers in the water were way down for this place today.
Weather wise as it shows in the photos for most of the morning it was mainly overcast and dull with some light rain for maybe 10 minutes. As the day wore on we did see some sunny periods.
That’s it for us today but tune in again tomorrow as we will be back out there on the wave trail again.
Swell situation, don’t quote me but it looks like we should see a little bit of swell relief with a snall pulse on the 11th and then a nice medium sized swell hitting our island on the 12th through to the 13th.
