BALI / INDONESIA
7th – 8th November 2017
Hi surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for the latest news and our best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the best bet to score some perfect waves, sunshine and fun times holiday destination, Bali.
Ok so as I’m sure most of you Indo enthusiasts have worked out that wave height in pretty minimal here in Bali at the moment. And if it’s small here in Bali it’s small right across the Indonesian archipelago. But hey it is small but not flat that’s for sure. This current photo gallery we shot up at Canggu on the 7th, as it shows wave height was mainly in the 2ft range but there were a few head high freak sets as the tide pushed in. There’s also a photo we took looking back towards Batu Bolong around 1.5km South of Canggu. It doesn’t quite do the crowd justice as there would have been around 500+ learners in the water, out of control or what.
Yesterday the 8th and wave height out on the Outer Reefs was only just breaking in the 1-1ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. As the tide filled in there was hardly anything actually breaking. I ended up running my son through some paddling training and Technic down along the beach breaks of Tuban, wave height there was also only in the 1ft range, maybe some 2 footers down along Kuta beach. I’m sure there would have still been a few slightly bigger waves at places like Canggu, Balian and Uluwatu for those that really needed to chases some waves.
Today the 9th and my 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was still only showing wave height in the 0-1ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was low at the time with the wind clean off shore out of the East. Even though it was pretty small out there I could see maybe half a dozen surfers in the water on Middle Reef, which is best on the lower end of the tide.
Agus has texted through calling wave height over on the East coast in the 1-3ft class with light on shore wind.
Hopefully sometime tomorrow we will hopefully see a little more swell here along Bali’s West Coast. Not a hell of a lot but a pulse all the same.
Weather wise today it’s been a warm old Thursday here in Bali and right now at 12.noon the mercury is sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 72%. Wind direction is coming out of the East at 6-10knot.
On the Sport Fishing scene here my crew have been doing extremely well with some solid catches of Spanish Mackerel, one boat landing 31 fish in one session. Contact us here if you would like to know more or get out for some Balinese sports fishing.
