Hello everyone and a ho ho ho Merry Christmas to everyone and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves (delivering the goods to you from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on every sane surfers first choice tropical surfing holiday destination, Bali.
Ok yesterday the 14th and wave height had backed off with our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer reefs only showing 1ft waves between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. So we pulled the plug and had another day off. This is our longest small wave period for 2017 and I don’t think it can go on for to much longer, this is Bali right !
Alas today’s surf check on the Outer Reefs was still only showing 1-2ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. A little more energy than the previous day so we thought we had better get out there and investigate. How ever wind direction was coming out of the NNW at the time.
So doing our part to save the planet we didn’t go to far, making our way back up to the Gu. Arriving to find wave height in the 2-3ft class with clean surfing conditions on the right hand river mouth of Pererenan. By 8.30AM the wind was starting to swing more to the NW and slowly making it’s way all the way around to the West by just after 9.00AM. The premium wind for this place is out of the North. The high tide is also a must have as there are a lot of rocks that stick up on the inside and I have seen a lot of people come un stuck on them. Anyway even though the wind was a little on shore after 9.00AM there were still some fun little waves coming through.
Great to see some of the Canggu ex-pat community helping to keep the beach clean this morning !
Weather wise there has been a little light cloud cover over us but plenty of hot sunny breaks thrown in with it. Right now at 4.35PM it’s mostly sunny outside and the temp is still a warm 29 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is sitting on 77%. While the wind is coming out of the West at 10-14knot.
That’s about us for today but we have a change of plan penciled in for tomorrow so stay tuned to the baliwaves to stay in the know. I’ve also loaded a short video clip onto our baliwaves facebook page so check that out for a better idea of the waves and conditions if you got time.
Starting this week we are also very stoked to have Clive Rodell on board with baliwaves. Clive is going to be trying to keep us fit and in shape with his untold knowledge as a professional personal sports trainer. We’ll all be able to “ask Clive” any questions we have on training tips and for those with injuries how to get back on the road to recovery. Check out Clives BIO down below it’s pretty impressive, and stay tuned for his first installment.
