BALI / INDONESIA
10th – 11th+ April 2018
Hello everyone and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible up front views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and the gateway to Indonesia’s surfing wonderland, Bali.
Alright so wave height has been pretty marginal at best the last couple of days and yesterday the 11th we called a lay day. But if you were keen enough or maybe your last day of holidays you could have at least got wet up along the beach breaks of Kuta and Legian, locally. This latest photo gallery was shot down at Indonesia’s premier surfing location and one of our favorites, Uluwatu. Wave height was only in the 1-3ft class on the 10th as previously mentioned, but still a perfect place to hang out through the mornings.
Today the 12th and if you have already checked out this mornings SURF CHECK via our Twitter feed on baliwaves then you’d be pretty well in the know with what the waves are like around the island at a quick glance. It’s still pretty small out there today but it has bumped up a little compared to the last couple of days.
Ketut has been up at Canggu all morning shooting some photos for us and recked wave height was in the 1-3ft class with an early morning light off shore wind that turned more to the North West and then further around to the West by late morning. I’ll take a look through the photos shortly and get some edited up for the baliwaves later this afternoon.
Weather wise outside here in Tuban right now at 11.30AM we have nothing but blue sky and the temperature on 31 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 71%. Wind direction has been light and variable from the N-NW-W so far this morning but I’m thinking it should go fully around to the ESE at some point in time today.
The next tide in Bali today will be a 0.8mtr Low @ 2.22PM and we have the next Moon Phase will be a New Moon rising on the 15th, so get ready for bigger tidal ranges after the Moon rises.
Swell prediction. Our Indian Ocean is really starting to liven up at the moment and we should see a small pulse arriving today the 12th and into the 13th. Then by the 14th – 15th a more moderate swell should start to hit Bali and tapering off through to the 17th when another smaller swell gives us a bump. Then further out, maybe another 2-3 days if everything remains the same we might get a big swell system smacking into Bali. Fingers crossed the crystal ball holds true.
