BALI / INDONESIA
26th – 27th April 2018
Hello again and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (doing our best to bring you a little bit of Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and aas always the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright then yesterday the 26th and we made another run up the West Coast of Bali to one of our favorite destinations of Balian. As you can see in our photo gallery we didn’t too bad scoring head to double head high left and rights with clean and glassy surfing conditions. The icing on the cake was that there was only maybe a dowzen surfers scattered through the whole main beach line up and maybe another half a dozen across on the river mouth rights. I can personally vouch that there was plenty of punch on the inside lefts, getting smack downed a couple of times. The only negative from yesterdays road trip was the the usual 2hr midday trip home took us 3hrs due to heavy traffic in the Seminyak to Kuta stretch.
Weather wise, just hot and sunny here on the number one holiday island.
Today the 27th and as expected our 7.15AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off again. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was down into the 1-3ft class (waist to head high). Middle Reef was picking up the bigger fun sized set waves while the tide was still running in. Although there were surfers on all 3 of the main sections.
Ketut has taken the camera equipment for a run up to Canggu to see if we can get a few photos for ya’s. He hasn’t called through yet but I’d imagine there would have to be at least a few chest to head high plus (maybe) waves hitting the river mouth and sand bar sections on the morning high tide.
Weather wise outside right now at 9.25AM there’s nothing but blue sky on a 360 degree view. Temperature wise the mercury has already hit 28C and heading for the 30’s by midday.
The next tide will be a 0.5mtr Low at 2.51PM, word. The next moon phase is coming up for a Full Moon rising on the 30th and this time we should have some solid swell to go with the big tidal ranges.
Changing Dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali yesterday afternoon, 1US$=Rp13,850 — 1AU$=Rp10,450 Just can’t seem to stop that mighty US dollar at the moment.
Ok Bali friends as soon as we can get our internet working this morning I’ll throw this up for ya’s. Have a good Friday and get ready for a weekend full of waves here on the original Bali surf report website.
