Hi surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you up to date with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alrighty then yesterday the 30th and with the charts showing a slight drop in wave height along Bali’s West coast from the swell direction changing more to the SSW. So we thought we better head back down to Uluwatu thinking there should still be a few solid set waves left from the previous days beauties. Arriving around 8.00AM to find wave height in fact still coming through in the solid double head high to double head high plus region on the sets, but with the wind light on shore out of the WNW.
The waves were still clean for the first hour or two and there was still some barrels to be ridden and they were ridden well. The wind did get stronger out of the WNW and we hung out until lunch time hoping to see it swing around to the ESE, but that never happened until we made it all the way back home. I’d imagine the Racetrack section at Ulu’s would have been going right off on the late afternoon low tide.
Weather wise it was mostly over cast through the morning with some sunny breaks and then clearing away for a hot and sunny afternoon.
This morning the 31st and it’s just gone 4.50AM and we will be hitting the road shortly in search of more waves. So stay tuned to our Twitter and Instagram feeds @baliwaves for more news and up dates through out the morning.
