BALI / INDONEISA
25th – 26th May 2018
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping Bali surf reports real since back in 1999) and welcome to the weekend. It’s time for another check on surfing and weather conditions right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so it’s been pretty tough the last few days battling the Aussie flu (day 14 and 2 trips to the Dr) but fingers crossed we are on top of things and on the mend. Yesterday the 25th we ended up down at Balangan beach and as it shows in our latest photo gallery there were some nice waves coming through indeed. It was a bit of a wait for the better set waves with the average size in the chest to just over head high range. The wind was blowing hard off shore and I had the blood shot eye’s for proof. The water temp has also dropped down to a cool 19 – 20 degree’s Celsius and just to make it a little more tricky there was a lot of little jelly fish nipping away at us. But like any surf it’s always a good thing to be out there in the sun and salt water.
Today the 26th and with wave height still only showing in the 2-3ft range her on the Outer Reefs between Kuta Reef and Airport Left we headed back down South to Uluwatu. The tide was sitting on the top when we arrived and wave height was a consistent 3-4ft on the Main Peak and Temple sections. As the tide started to run out around 11.00AM there was a few little tubes running down the Racetrack section. We did shoot a bunch of photos and we’ll get them on line for you asap.
Weather wise it was a little overcast early this morning (re Twitter) but by midday it was all blue sky and sun shine. The wind has been fresh out of the SE since early this morning and slowly increased in strength through out the day.
Ok crew that’s us for now but stay tuned cause it’s all going to be going down real soon with a solid bump in wave heigth expected to start hitting Bali’s beach and reefs over the next 24hrs.
