BALI SURF REPORT, Kuta Reef to Uluwatu 29th May 2018

Hello everyone and thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves (keeping it real since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.

OK so my 6.15AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban this morning was showing a big drop in wave height. The tide was mid and rising with wave height only showing in the 2-3ft+ class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were as clean as it can get with the wind already coming cleanly out of the ESE and straight off shore between Kuta Reef and Uluwatu.

So with that in mind we made the call to head down to Uluwatu. Arriving around 7.45AM to find perfect conditions with 3-4ft waves towards the top of the tide. As the tide did top out the ball game changed into some solid head to double head high plus action on the Main Peak. Some of the boys from the Corona Bali Protected even turned up and made their point of just how good they are in the ocean. Pulling in so deep on what looked to be un make able pits and of course, making it back out again. Only then to throw their boards vertically back up at the lip and BOOM blowing everyone’s mind in the process. I just wish I woulda taken my bigger lens today..

Weather wise another perfect Bali holiday type of day, blue sky with clean off shore ESE wind and some great waves bending into Uluwatu. Even now at 4.25PM the temperature is still a nice 29 degree’s Celsius.

I’ve also thrown in a photo sent to us from our friends at Lakey Peak calling head to double head high waves on the Peak. A little in consistent with some hard cross / odd shore wind on it.
