BALI / INDONESIA
24th – 25th May 2018
Hey there and welcome back to the baliwaves (delivering the goods from Bali to you since back in 1999) for our latest news and the absolute best views on surfing and weather conditions right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
On the 24th Our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing a nice little bump in size with 2-3ft plus sized waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was in at the time so Kuta Reef and Airport Left were looking the best option with Middle Reef being better suited to the lower end of the tide. The wind, the SE Trade wind was also already up and starting to wind up as it has been for the most of this month, and by midday she was hitting gusts of up to 20knot plus.
As it shows in our latest photo gallery on display we headed down to Uluwatu where we knew the action would be for the more experienced surfers. Wave height at first was in the chest to over head high class but as yhe tide started to run out there were double head high sets hitting the Main Peak. Lots of tube rides going down all morning, but also a lot of shut down barrels. Crowd wise there were only around 40 surfers spread through the line up, not your average Super Bank crowd that’s for sure.
Weather wise there was some light cloud through the morning that cleared away by midday. Temperature wise the mercury hit 30 degree’s out of the shade.
This morning the 25th and right now it’s just on 5.55AM and we will be heading out to see whats happening on the wave front very shortly. So stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report website for more news and info through out the morning via our Twitter and Instagram feeds on site.
