Hi folks and welcome aboard the baliwaves (keeping you in touch with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and as always the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on every sane surfers favorite tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so as relentless as we can be here’s another fresh photo gallery keeping everything up close and tight. As it shows wave height was still only in that 2-3ft range but with an every once in awhile over head set wave. No shortage of surfers and like I mentioned in yesterdays report, packing them in like sardines as the tide filled in. But Canggu in all respect and aspects has been transformed not so long ago (only around 3 yrs ago) from a once dirty beach littered with cow, horse and dog poop (only the dog poop remains) into a beautiful and almost spotlessly clean hang out with lots of umbrellas and day beds to chill out on. I can understand why all our new European surfer friends love this beach so much as there would be nothing to compare back home.
This morning the 8th and our 7.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was looking good with chest to well over head high waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide is in the middle of the Moon phase at the moment so there’s no real high or low at the moment. Nice fun sized waves on all 3 main sections. Now at 10.50AM the Trade wind would be putting too much chop on Airport Right.
Weather wise, straight up hot and sunny. Light and variable ENE wind most mornings before the ESE – SE Trade wind starts to wind up around 9 – 9.30AM each morning delivering clean off shore wind from Uluwatu to Legian.
Swell predictions are looking good with another swell forecasted to start showing on the 11th and then a couple more swells behind coming in on the back of each previous one. Further out the Indian Ocean has got some more swell in store and looks like she’s just starting to warm up.
We also have a couple of surfers over at Lakey Peak and they have sent us through a quick up date on surfing conditions and a couple of phone photos. Calling in wave height at waist to almost head high and maybe better suited to the grommets. But it won’t be long and Lakey’s will be pumping as well.
