BALI / Indonesia
16th – 17th June 2018
Hello surfers and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you in the loop with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for the start of another surfing week and our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so yeah it’s been a huge weekend, I guess everyday in Bali is huge for that matter right. This last weekend was no different with waves galore at just about every location around the island. These latest photos we’ve loaded up for you were shot here along Bali’s West Coast at Canggu. As they show it was cranking through some solid left and rights in the head to almost double head high class with plenty of power to go around. The lefts were better as the tide was running in and then as the tide filled in the right hander took over. Surfing conditions were clean with an early morning light off shore wind that lasted through until the ESE Trade wind kicked in around 10.30AM.
Yesterday the 18th and we were down at Indo’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu and as soon as we can we’ll get some photos from that session to you. As I type Ketut is back out on the road smashing away on the shutter again so I’m getting buried with so many good photos to sort through, all good we love what we do and all the better for you.
Weather wise today the 18th (re Twitter @baliwaves) it’s been a perfect day on the weather side of things with blue sky from sun up and still right now at midday. Temperature wise the mercury is at 29 degree’s Celsius and the wind is fresh out of the ESE at 8-12knot+.
Don’t forget about this, something to get extremely excited about is the waiting period for the RipCurl Cup 2018 is almost here. The official waiting period for this annual tube riding bonanza will kick off on the 1st of July and then hold right through until the 31st of July. This is big wave hunting season here in Bali and this event is going to be fed live to the whole surfing World via webcast. So stay tuned here for more news and up dates on the 2018 RipCurl Cup.
