Hello Bali people and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (keeping you in touch with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and best views on surfing and weather conditions right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
OK then, so yesterday the 31st we were up before the birds and on our way up Bali’s West Coast to Medewi. Arriving around 7.20AM to find wave height a fun sized chest to well over head high and a light off shore wind. The tide was still running in so the crowd was pretty good with only maybe 20 surfers spread through the long line up that is Medewi. But as the tide filled in and all the rocks and sea urchins were covered over I made a head count that was 72 surfers spread from the out side take off point through the inside speed section. Quite a lot of these high tider surfers were being pushed in to the waves, and a few of them, with reckless abandon. But all in all if you know what your doing it’s always easy to get some long waves at this place and have a few laughs with the local boys.
Weather wise it was mostly hot and sunny with hardly any wind on the scene while we were on location.
Today the 1st of June and just to get the month off to a good start we thought we had better nhit the local for a paddle. So we made our way out to Kuta Reef and had some fun in the sun. Off shore wind tide running in with chest to well over head high set waves. There was around 20 surfers in the water when we jumped outta our boat and only 1 surfer left in the water as we jumped back in. Middle Reef and Airport Left and Right all had some nice waves showing as well.
Weather wise today it’s been hot and sunny and right now at 3.51PM the temperature is still a warm 29 degree’s Celsius. Wind direction here in Tuban is coming out of the ESE at 12knot+
