BALI / INDONESIA
6th June 2018
Hello everyone and welcome back to the real deal baliwaves (keeping Bali surf reports honest since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright then, with this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban still showing wave height in the 2-3ft+. That was between Kuta Reef and Airport Left at 7.00AM. The tide was on the bottom of a ordinary Low tide and the wind was light on shore out of the NNW at the time. Middle Reef did have a few surfers already in the water and looked the best out of the big 3.
So with the wind light on shore we thought we’d hang out for awhile hoping that the SE Trade wind would kick in. Arriving down at Uluwatu at 9.40AM there was no sign of the Tradey with the wind still light on shore out of the WNW. Wave height down at Uluwatu was still pretty good and hitting the Main Peak in the head to double head high class. There was still a few waves running down the Racetrack but no chance of getting anywhere near our usual roost with the amount of photographers with shiny new Cannon camera’s jumping around “is that pro ?” The Temple section was also delivering some nice waves but with the on shore wind it wasn’t as mechanical as it can be.
We hung out until around 11.30AM, until we couldn’t handle the crowd in the warung any longer, it was more crowded than the line up haha. But even then the wind was still light on shore.
Weather wise there was some light cloud cover down on the bukit with some blue sky from time to time. Wind direction for the morning was light on shore out of the WNW, it’s still pretty light now at 3.00PM

Ok that’ll do us for today it’s almost time to go and watch the NSW kick some QLD butt in the 2018 State of Origin. But don’t forget you don’t have to be a pro surfer to appear on the baliwaves (but it helps..) Oh yeah and I’ve also loaded a photo of a nice Spanish Mackerel (12.5kg’s) one of my local mates got yesterday. Feel free to drop us a line if you want to try your luck.
