BALI / Indonesia
25th – 26th June 2018
Hey everyone and thanks again for tuning into the baliwaves (keeping Bali surf reports real since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions. From right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright then sorry I didn’t get a chance to get these photos from Uluwatu loaded up yesterday, I got into a backyard work frenzy (looks a lot better). But anyway as the photos show there was some nice waves down at Indonesia’s premier surfing location. Ketut was there on the scene by 8.30AM and reckoned there wasn’t too many surfers in the water so he had to hang out till a couple of the local ripsters, Alik and Tumbling hit the water to supplement his photo shoot. As usual down on the bukit as the morning wore on the late sleepers all started to turn up around mid morning and the party began. That’s about the time we like to pack up and call it a day.
I was down the beach taking in a late afternoon surf check and there wasn’t a lot happening on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was only in the 1-3ft class with the bigger head high sets hitting Middle Reef. Probably would have still been fun if you like spray blinding take offs and chop hops from the 15-20 knot off shore TW
Weather wise yesterday, early morning cloud before the strong ESE Tradey cleansed the sky turning her a mostly blue from late morning on wards.
This morning the 26th and our 7.00AM surf check on the Outers was showing wave height to have dropped off even more. Wave height today between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was only showing in the waist to chest high range at best, and that was before the tide filled in. Surfing conditions out there are still very testy with that off shore Tradey blowing hard since daybreak.
Weather wise so far we had that early morning cloud that was quickly dispersed by the ESE Trade wind. Right now at 11.40AM the temperature is a warm 29 degree’s Celsius and a mostly blue sky. Strong off shore ESE wind that is predicted to keep blowing for at least until the end of the week. Pretty normal for a June in Bali though.
The next tide today here in Bali will be a 0.4mtr Low at 3.23PM, This is according to my RipCurl (titanium) Tidemaster that has been 100% on the ball tide and time wise for the last 6yrs I’ve owned her.
The next Moon Phase in Bali will be a Full Moon coming up on the 28th of June.
