BALI / Indonesia
27th – 28th June 2018
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (keeping you in touch with Bali’s surfing scene since back in 1999) for our latest news and the best possible views on surfing and weather conditions. From right here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 27th and after my 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was only showing 1 footers between Kuta Reef and Airport Left I decided to just kick back and catch up on my odd jobs and emails. But when I went back down for an afternoon check there looked like there was some real fun head high waves peeling off on Middle Reef for the afternooners. The has also backed off a little and only around 10 surfers in the water.
So this morning we expected to see some nice waves and thought we’d head down to Bali’s wave machine called Uluwatu. As it shows in our current photo gallery there were plenty of waves with a strong off shore ESE TRade wind on it. On arrival wave height was only in the 2-4ft class but as the tide filled in and then started to run back out there were solid 5ft+ set waves hitting the main Peak. There was also a fairly good crowd of surfers in the water making the most of the bump in size.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly sunny day around here in South Kuta with some cloud drifting through with the wind. Temperature wise the mercury just hit 30 degree’s on the Celsius scale. Wind wise the ESE Tradey has been blowing fairly hard all day and just starting to back off a touch now at 5.50PM.
Ok crew that’s us for now, time to hit the shower and have some dinner. But stay tuned cause we will be back out there again tomorrow tracking down some of the best waves that Bali has to offer for you.
Don’t forget this Sunday the 1st of July has the opening ceremony for this years RipCurl Padang Padang Cup. So if you can make it down to Padang Padang beach to meet the surfers and the heat draw, there will also be a press meeting and Balinese traditional Cekak dance. Starting time is 3.00PM
